Brian Turner is the Building Science Practice Leader for Clark Nexsen, a role that sees him elevating our ability to deliver sustainable design solutions and high-performing buildings. Brian focuses on deepening the firm’s resources in energy modeling, data gathering and analysis, and research to reduce carbon emissions from our projects.

Brian brings 23 years of experience in mechanical and green building design for a wide range of commercial, federal, and institutional clients. His experience in all phases of building design and construction supervision includes design of ground source heat pump systems, variable refrigerant flow systems, and multiple LEED certified projects. He specializes in the design of high-performance buildings which are healthy to live and work in, saving owners money, and minimizing environmental impacts.

A regular presenter on energy modeling and the integrated design process, Brian is a founding chair of the USGBC Hampton Roads chapter. He holds a Master of Engineering in Sustainable Energy Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering from Duke University.
