Janet Brooks Named to SMPS 2021 Class of Fellows
Janet Brooks, FSMPS, CPSM has been named a Fellow of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). This honor represents the highest level of experience and leadership in marketing and business development within the design and building industry. Janet earned her Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) credential in 2008. She has held numerous national, regional, and local SMPS positions including the SMPS Foundation Board of Trustees and president of the SMPS Charlotte Chapter. Janet was a contributor to the SMPS Foundation’s book, A/E/C Business Development: The Decade Ahead and has served on the SMPS National Certification Committee.
Janet has the distinction of being the first SMPS Fellow from Charlotte and only the second in North Carolina. Out of a total SMPS membership of over 6,500, less than 2% of members are distinguished with this honor.
With more than three decades of A/E/C business development and marketing experience, Janet excels at researching the next “big thing,” and building relationships with a wide variety of clients and professionals within the AEC industry. She joined Clark Nexsen in 2005 in the Charlotte office.
Janet has advanced initiatives to provide marketing and business development guidance throughout the Southeast and is seen as a thought leader in her field. Janet will continue to serve as a resource at the chapter, regional, and Society levels to provide insight, ideas, programs, and mentoring.
The SMPS Fellows program was developed to elevate a specially selected group of outstanding individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the profession of marketing and business development in the A/E/C industries and to the Society, and to encourage continued achievement and SMPS engagement by senior members. The 2021 Fellows will be recognized at a ceremony this August during Build Business, the SMPS annual convention in Portland, OR.
