As Chairman of the Board, Clymer Cease provides strategic guidance and leadership to the firm and the board of directors. He previously served as a board member and a managing principal of the firm’s office in Raleigh, North Carolina. “I am excited about leading Clark Nexsen into the future as an ideas-based firm,” Clymer said. “We have a strong culture of collaboration and innovation, which is how we develop transformative design solutions for our clients. I see no limit to how far this firm can go.”

He excels at leading complex, large-scale projects for academic, corporate, and civic clients. Clymer listens carefully in order to assess and implement strategic action that successfully moves projects forward. Recent projects include the City of Raleigh’s Central Communications Center, the renovation of Terminal 1 at RDU International Airport, and Hunt Library at NC State University.

He is a leader in the community who has held numerous positions on area boards and committees, including the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, the City of Raleigh’s Public Art and Design Board, and the Regional Transportation Alliance. In 2015, he was honored with the Business Support of the Arts Individual Award from the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County, and the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. Clymer holds a Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Environmental Architecture from NC State University. Clymer enjoys running and has run in a dozen marathons.
