Kevin Utsey FAIA, LEED AP BD+C
Kevin Utsey focuses on architectural design and business development in our Charlotte office. He is active throughout all phases of projects, from initial programming, concept development, design and building completion for higher education, commercial, government, and mixed-use projects. With nearly four decades of practice experience, Kevin specializes in designing places where people gather, work, and learn. Projects under his design leadership have been recognized with both national and regional awards, including an American Institute of Architects (AIA) Urban Design Award for Excellence. Kevin was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in 2013.
Current and recent projects include a new science building at UNC Charlotte, the Corps Leadership and Military Science classroom building at Virginia Tech, and new student housing developments at the University of Oklahoma and Clemson University. A Wilmington, North Carolina native, Kevin received both his graduate and undergraduate degrees in architecture from North Carolina State University. Kevin is a frequent design studio critic for Masters level classes at the UNC Charlotte School of Architecture. His outside activities include weekend tennis and road cycling around Charlotte.
