Klaus Perkins leads the structural engineering department in the Raleigh, NC office. He is recognized for a strong leadership style that emphasizes collaboration and support, empowering his team and those who interact with them to operate at a high level. His experience ranges from construction management, forensic engineering, and structural design. With more than 25 years of experience, Klaus has a broad range of project experience from campus housing and classrooms to corporate laboratories, military facilities, and pedestrian bridges.

Klaus is an active member of the Structural Engineers Association (SEA) and is a certified Structures Specialist with North Carolina Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Task Force 8. During a USAR event, a Structures Specialist is responsible for assessing immediate and ongoing structural instabilities in the interest of rescuing trapped victims and protecting rescue personnel.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1993. In his free time, Klaus enjoys competing in obstacle course races with his son and working around the house with his wife.
