Clark Nexsen and JMT Raise Over $8,000 for Relay For Life of South Hampton Roads

This summer, Clark Nexsen and JMT employees in Virginia Beach came together to raise almost $8,500 for The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of South Hampton Roads.

“Our firm’s involvement with Relay For Life reflects a strong commitment to supporting our community while raising awareness and funds in the fight against cancer,” said Alicia Shepard, Senior Project Coordinator and Clark Nexsen team captain. “Participating in the event also gives employees the opportunity to come together outside the workplace and make a meaningful impact through service and a shared sense of purpose. It’s a cause that is both deeply personal and incredibly rewarding for our company and our entire Relay For Life team.”

Relay For Life is a volunteer-led event held in communities across the country that celebrates cancer survivors, remembers those lost to cancer, and raises money to help those battling cancer. The funds raised this year will help answer 340 calls to the American Cancer Society’s 24/7 helpline, provide 170 rides to treatment, or offer 95 free nights at a Hope Lodge for patients receiving care away from home. Additionally, Clark Nexsen and JMT were once again proud to be a $5,000 Fight Back Sponsor thanks to JMT Charitable Giving.

“As a lifelong volunteer for Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society, it means a lot to see our office rally around an initiative that supports critical research and patient support services in our region and across the country,” said Allison Rogers, Architect and Clark Nexsen team captain. “So many people we know have been touched by cancer, and I’m hopeful our efforts will lead to a future without cancer.”
