Clark Nexsen Donates $10,000 to American Cancer Society for Giving Tuesday

In partnership with the Clark Nexsen Foundation, Clark Nexsen is proud to announce that it will be donating $10,000 to the American Cancer Society as part of its Giving Tuesday campaign.

This campaign was an opportunity for our entire firm to come together and support an incredible organization on Giving Tuesday,” said Susan Drew, CID, IIDA, LEED AP BD+C, Principal, Director of Interiors, and Clark Nexsen Foundation Board Member. We believe in making positive, lasting impacts in our communities through philanthropy, and this donation continues those efforts.”

The donation marked the conclusion of the firm’s first-ever Giving Tuesday campaign. Employees across all nine Clark Nexsen locations voted on one of ten 501(c)(3) charitable organizations they wanted to receive the $10,000. Once voting was complete, the American Cancer Society finished with over 30% of the votes.

“I voted for the American Cancer Society as I lost my dad to cancer in 2020,” said Jennifer Heintz, AIA, LEED AP, Senior Architect, Principal, and Clark Nexsen Foundation Board Member. “I know so many people who have been impacted by cancer in some way, and I wanted to be impactful in my own right in the fight against it.

Additionally, the campaign was centered around the theme of wellness. Each selected organization provided a benefit to physical, mental, or environmental wellness, such as the Fresh Air Fund, Nature Conservancy, and Feeding America. The Clark Nexsen Foundation worked alongside WELL Certified individuals at the firm to identify organizations that best fit the campaign theme.

“Wellness is an integral part of our everyday lives,” said Melanie Goodson, NCIDQ, WELL AP, IIDA, Senior Certified Interior Designer. “From high-quality airflow, adequate natural light, and better accessibility, everyone deserves a space – whether in an office or their home – that enables them to lead a healthy life. The organizations we selected follow that ethos and reflect the work we do every day at Clark Nexsen.”
