Clark Nexsen, Kimley-Horn Partnership Raises Over $12,700 for Children’s Flight of Hope

Clark Nexsen and Kimley-Horn are thrilled to announce that $12,739 has been raised at the 10th Anniversary of Hops for Hope fundraising campaign for Children’s Flight of Hope, a nonprofit organization in North Carolina that provides flights to specialized medical care for children in need.

The outpouring of community support for Hops for Hope’s 10-year anniversary was heartwarming,” said Scott Nelsen, AIA, Architect, and Clark Nexsen fundraising team captain. “This was our seventh consecutive year participating in this event for this amazing organization, and thanks to our partners, Kimley-Horn and Flour and Barrel, and the support of our Community Collective Foundation, we broke our fundraising record for the second time in just the past three years.”

Hops for Hope is an annual fundraising effort pairing corporate teams in the North Carolina Triangle area with local breweries to craft a unique beer in support of Children’s Flight of Hope. Additionally, each team is given a “passenger” to highlight how the organization helps children in need access specialized medical care. This year, Clark Nexsen and Kimley-Horn partnered with Flour and Barrel, a local restaurant in Raleigh, as team Camp Hoptimism to create their beer, Campfire. Inspired by their passenger Isaak, the team won Best Theme and surpassed their fundraising record by $4,000.

This campaign marks the seventh consecutive year that the Raleigh offices of Clark Nexsen and Kimley-Horn have participated in this event, resulting in over $29,000 raised in just the past three years. In addition to the Clark Nexsen and Kimley-Horn team’s fundraising efforts, the Community Collective Foundation once again matched the amount raised by Clark Nexsen, enhancing the campaign’s reach.

“We are thrilled to once again be part of a local initiative that sparks such engagement and enthusiasm within our community,” said Jennifer Heintz, AIA, LEED AP, Senior Architect, Principal, and Community Collective Foundation Secretary and Treasurer. “The widespread participation from corporate teams, breweries, and the community outdoes itself every year. It is incredible to reflect on the life-changing impact that these funds have had and will continue to have on the children and their families. The Community Collective Foundation proudly partners with our colleagues to amplify the team’s impact and further the reach of Children’s Flight of Hope.”
