An award-winning Oracle systems integrator, managed services provider, and consulting firm, Mythics, Inc. has experienced significant growth in recent years. The upfit of the eighth and 15th floors of the 4525 Main Street Tower presented an opportunity to both accommodate current and future growth and also create new spaces that positively impact their employees’ experience. Every design choice in the company’s new headquarters intentionally reflects their culture and fosters a vibrant, energetic work environment.
Driven by leadership’s vision for an office that embodies their core values – Respect, Empathy, Excellence, and Fun – the result is a bright and open environment with a balance of public and private spaces. From its location in Virginia Beach’s bustling Town Center, to the integration of undeniably “Fun” break spaces such as a golf simulator and ping pong table, the office concept centers on employee satisfaction and well-being. These playful spaces are balanced by elements that further demonstrate the company’s commitment to Respect, Empathy, and Excellence – ergonomic furnishings that allow employees to choose to work either seated or standing; a “Zen Room” for relaxation and rejuvenation; bright, welcoming kitchens for eating and gathering; a parenting room for nursing mothers; and a dual training and meeting space with state-of-the-art technology.
The design utilizes light colors and extensive interior glazing to bring daylight into the building interior, supporting goals for a positive and healthy workplace. The sleek, modern furniture and color choices reflect the office’s sense of place and present an image of a cutting-edge, successful technology company. In addition to the aesthetic and functional considerations of the work environment, the design addresses the need for continued occupancy in the event of a power outage with an emergency operations area that is served by a dedicated generator and HVAC system.
