Janet Webster has more than 25 years of experience in structural design and project management for a wide variety of public and private sector clients in the U.S. and overseas.  Her structural experience includes design of building and infrastructure projects, seismic, forensic and blast design, as well as construction and materials expertise.  Her current area of concentration is design of wet and dry floodproofing options for structures. This has led her to actively pursue innovative and cost-effective designs to assist property owners with protecting their buildings from the effects of sea-level rise and land subsidence.

Janet is the principal and market sector leader for the Wireless Solutions team at Clark Nexsen. During her time within this rapidly growing sector, she has been instrumental in developing expanded services and new growth opportunities. By identifying trends in technology and implementing cutting edge designs, Janet is visionary in responding to the highly transient nature of wireless and broadband technology. She is currently leading the team though the design and expansion of the exploding 5G Network across Virginia.

Janet is a licensed structural engineer in Virginia and a passionate advocate and mentor for women who are developing engineering or other STEM careers. She has served on the Virginia Structural Engineer’s Council as a board member, including two years as chair. She is currently the first female president of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Virginia for the 2020-2021 year and is a 2012 graduate of their Emerging Leaders Institute. She graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and currently serves on the ODU Alumni Association board of directors. She holds a Master of Science in engineering management from George Washington University.
