Andy Duncan Named to the Inside Business Journal “40 Under 40“
Andy Duncan has been selected for the Hampton Roads Inside Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.” The annual list recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves by their career achievements, service to their professions and communities, and active participation in charitable work in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.
Based in our Virginia Beach office, Andy is a senior project manager who works with commercial clients and the federal government, particularly the U.S. Navy. A key member of our Energy group, Andy often travels internationally, consulting with federal clients on innovative approaches to manage and conserve energy and integrate emerging, sustainable energy technology.
Since graduating from the Virginia Military Institute in 2002, Andy has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and strong work ethic that is reflected in his steady career progression with Clark Nexsen from joining the firm as an engineer-in-training 2001 to receiving his Professional Engineer license in 2007 and being named an associate principal in 2016.
As a mentor, Andy regularly supports younger professionals in developing their skill sets through the groups he leads and is involved with, both at Clark Nexsen and outside of the office.
He has participated in the United Way Day of Caring and will be serving on the 2018 Board of Directors for the Kiwanis Club at Town Center. He is also active in the under 40 group associated with the Central Business District Association in Virginia Beach. Early on, Andy was encouraged to join professional societies and became involved with engineering societies including the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers, and the Society of American Military Engineers.
