Clark Nexsen, Kimley-Horn Partnership Raises Over $7,900 for Children’s Flight of Hope

Clark Nexsen and Kimley-Horn are happy to announce that $7,936 has been raised for the annual Hops for Hope fundraising campaign in support of Children’s Flight of Hope, a nonprofit organization in North Carolina that provides flights to specialized medical care for children in need.

We are heartened by another successful and enthusiastic year of fundraising with our colleagues at Kimley-Horn,” said Scott Nelsen, AIA, Architect and Clark Nexsen fundraising team captain. “We get to support a great cause while enjoying the good spirits of our local culture and our dedicated team in the Raleigh office. We can’t wait to support this event again next year with our friends, colleagues, and the local community.

Hops for Hope is an annual event that pairs corporate teams in the North Carolina Triangle area with local breweries to create a unique beer in support of Children’s Flight of Hope. Each team is given a “passenger, highlighting how the organization is helping children in need. This year, the Clark Nexsen and Kimley-Horn team partnered with Brewery Bhavana in support of children like Mykhailo, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Thanks to Children’s Flight of Hope, Mykhailo was able to take a flight to Memphis, Tennessee, for surgery at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, one of the best children’s hospitals in the country, and have his brain tumor successfully removed.

“Thanks to this effort by Clark Nexsen and Kimley-Horn, children like Mykhailo will be able to receive the essential and lifesaving care they need,” said Jennifer Heintz, AIA, LEED AP, Senior Architect, Principal, and Clark Nexsen Foundation Secretary and Treasurer. “The Clark Nexsen Foundation is always looking for ways to support employee-led initiatives that can make a lasting impact in our communities. Moreover, as a mom, supporting Children’s Flight of Hope is important to me because the entire family will benefit from this support.”

This campaign marks the sixth straight year that the Raleigh offices of Clark Nexsen and Kimley-Horn have participated in this fundraising effort. Over $16,000 has been raised for Children’s Flight of Hope in the past two years alone. Additionally, the Clark Nexsen Foundation once again matched the amount raised by Clark Nexsen, helping enhance the team’s fundraising impact.
