Part of the second phase of the redevelopment of the Eastern State Hospital campus, the Adult Mental Health Treatment Center consolidates several outdated facilities into a single, state-of-the-art mental health environment for adult patients.

Designed to support the treatment of adults suffering from varying mental health conditions, long-term behavioral problems, and acuity levels, the program offers a 150-bed capacity and the design is crafted to include familiar elements reflecting how people typically live. The most basic element of the community is based around the patient bedroom and residential living pods, with areas for general wellness, activity, and relaxation including secure outdoor courtyards, a gym, library, game room, fashion shop, and café for both staff and patients.

Treatment and care spaces include admissions, a medical suite, living skills area, classrooms to support the patient recovery model, an on-site stat lab, phlebotomy area, dental, optometry, podiatry, x-ray, and general medical clinics.
