Brian Turner brings 18 years of experience in mechanical and green building design for a wide range of commercial, federal and institutional clients. His experience in all phases of building design and construction supervision includes design of ground source heat pump systems, variable refrigerant flow systems, and multiple LEED certified projects. He specializes in the design of high performance buildings which are healthy to live and work in, save owner money, and minimize environmental impacts. His experience includes energy modeling and life cycle cost analyses, measurement and verification of project energy savings, and numerous mechanical system types including chilled water, heating water, and steam.
Brian has spoken about the integrated design process and retro-commissioning at colleges and engineering conferences. He is a founding chair of the USGBC Hampton Roads chapter. He holds a Master of Engineering in Sustainable Energy Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering from Duke University.
