John Stuart  PE, ENV SP

John Stuart leads our Richmond office and is key in the firm’s growth of transportation and civil infrastructure projects for public works owners. His ability to build and support strong connections with project stakeholders is complemented by more than 30 years of experience, including two years of construction inspection.

Recently, he led the Woodman Road Roundabout and Extension project in Henrico County, VA and is currently heading up the Emmet Streetscape Improvements project for the City of Charlottesville. John finds it rewarding to see how investments in infrastructure create positive changes in communities.

John served four years in the U.S. Army after graduating from Virginia Military Institute, primarily in West Germany, and earned his Master of Business Administration from UNC Chapel Hill. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Public Works Association, the Richmond Joint Engineers Council (past Chair), and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Virginia where he serves on the Transportation Committee. Outside the office, John enjoys the year round beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and any activity on the water — fresh, salt, or brackish. On occasion, he serves as an assistant mechanic on a truck restoration project.
