In need of greater capacity to provide adequate training space, FLETC partnered with Clark Nexsen’s public safety team to design a substantial indoor firing range complex to include several total ranges and 106 firing positions. At 152,000 square feet, this facility is one of the largest indoor firing ranges in the United States.
The Cheltenham indoor firing range includes four 25-yard, 12-point ranges; two 50-yard, 24-point ranges; and one 100-yard, 10-point range. To support training flexibility, all of the ranges are designed as walk down ranges with multiple firing locations and the ability to drive vehicles and other large props into the ranges, creating the greatest possible variety of training scenarios. Additionally, the facility includes a central weapons issue, equipment issue, and seven classrooms dedicated to firearms instruction.
