Al Patel  PE, DBIA

With 36 years of bridge engineering experience, Al Patel is an integral member of the Transportation – Bridges practice. As the Technical Director, he is responsible for leading and supervising design production efforts of our staff engineers and technical personnel, which include preliminary design, preparation of final plans, and cost estimates. Al specializes in the design and load rating of bridge structures and is highly experienced in the analysis and load rating of special structures.  In his role at Clark Nexsen, Al has worked on many different bridge projects, ranging from large skewed and curved highway bridges to interchange ramp and grade separation bridges.

Al is a licensed professional engineer in Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, and is a graduate from the University of Virginia where he received a Master of Engineering in structural engineering. He also received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
