Bob Burkholder PE, LEED AP
Over the past 29 years at Clark Nexsen, Bob Burkholder has led a variety of project types, including GIS, land development, Waterfront Engineering, Utility and Stormwater Master Plans, Smart Grid, and Parks & Recreation elements. Serving private and public clients that have taken Bob to five of the seven continents, Bob has acquired a vast knowledge of designing civil projects to diverse criteria and site conditions. His experience as a U.S. Navy Seabee has given Bob the construction experience and awareness to implement constructability in all of his designs. Recent projects include the Saint Paul’s Baptist Church City of Possibility Master Plan, DoD Electric Vehicle Site/Infrastructure Assessments, Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point Blast Berm Improvements, and Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Hancock Area Stormwater Master Plan.
Bob’s involvement in various organizations speaks to his strong desire to give back to the A/E community and STEM programs. Bob is currently a charter board member of the Unmanned Systems Association of Virginia, a board member of Resilient Virginia, a University of Richmond Customer Experience Advisory Committee member, ACEC Virginia past president, and ODU Civil and Environmental Engineering Visiting Council past chair. A Professional Engineer licensed in four states, Bob is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Society of American Military Engineers.
